Welcome

This is the home of New Zealand’s sole distributor of Jabiru Aircraft.

These composite planes and robust engines are built in Bundaberg, Australia by a company whose mission is to develop and enhance affordable flying throughout the world.

Purchasing and operating a new aircraft is now within reach of all New Zealand pilots. Starting with the amazing value of the J120; to the J230, the perfect touring aircraft; and up to the four-seater J430 kitset; the Jabiru range provides unbeatable value-for-money.

Low running and maintenance costs are enhanced by the fact that Jabirus are the first Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) to be registered in New Zealand. This new category of licence, recently brought into existence, makes flying infinitely more affordable.

About Us

Jabiru New Zealand was established by Tim Holland of Euro Flight International, a Flight School in Mount Maunganui. Tim is one of New Zealand’s leading flight instructors. The Flight School’s Cessnas were recently replaced by two Jabirus and the upgrade has resulted in some marked improvements.

Compared with the old Cessnas, the Jabirus are not prone to rust; climb twice as high, twice as fast; and use less than half the fuel. Euro Flight’s maintenance budget is a fraction of what it used to be and the planes themselves are easier to fly. There is also less noise and pollution. In Tim's words:

"Like driving a new Toyota Camry compared to an old Austin."

How Much Faith do we Have in These Planes?

When Euro Flight International wanted to buy two Jabirus they could have had them delivered in a container.

But they didn’t.

Instead, Tim Holland, Director of Jabiru New Zealand, and Ross Crawford, a CAA Board Member, flew the single engine planes from the Bundaberg factory to the Flight School at Tauranga Airport.

You can read the story as told by Tim’s wife, Anita.
